With their latest release, Sequence Music proudly returns to a time when melodic techno was pure, euphoric, and hauntingly melancholic — words that define the spirit behind ENØS‘s new EP, Celesta.

The Swiss duo deliver a powerful three-track release that captures the emotional depth and timeless energy that first made so many fall in love with the genre. Combining deep basslines, intricate synth work, and immersive soundscapes, Celesta is a journey equally suited for dancefloor moments and introspective listening.

To celebrate the release, ENØS took some time to discuss the making of the EP, their creative inspirations, and their views on the evolving melodic techno scene.

Congratulations on the release of Celesta! Can you talk us through the EP, your inspirations, and why you chose Sequence Music as the home for this project?

“The three tracks are definitely inspired by our love of melodies above all else. We wanted to take a step back, return to our melodic techno roots, but add some more modern textures — and that’s how Celesta was born.

We chose Sequence because right from the start, we connected on the creative direction and vision. Plus, we really liked their track selection.”

Where was Celesta produced? Any notable gear or plugins that played a key role?

Celesta was made between our small studio in downtown Lausanne (CH) and our homes around the city. Our creative process feels a bit like a ping-pong game between these spaces — but to finalise tracks, we always have to be together in the studio.

We actually use quite basic plugins: Diva, Serum, Zebra, Nexus, and a few others. Honestly, we’re very music-driven — sometimes too much technology can scare us (laughs).”

Which artists have influenced your sound, both within and outside of electronic music?

“We have many influences. Within electronic music: Nils Frahm, Kiasmos, Mind Against, KAS:ST… Outside of it, we love psychedelic and old-school rock — artists like Tame Impala, The Temples, but also Justice and Oasis.”

Are there non-musical influences that help you get creative?

“It’s really difficult to define exactly where inspiration comes from. Living in Switzerland — being surrounded by the calmness of the mountains — definitely influences us. But sometimes a city, a club, or even just the vibe of our studio can be just as inspiring.”

How do you feel about the current state of the melodic techno scene?

“It has grown enormously, which is great for the genre as a whole. But with that growth, it’s become harder for newcomers and talented producers to stand out, because it’s easy to get lost in a very crowded scene.”
